Texas, Mattarella's solidarity with Trump: "Our thoughts are with the families of the victims"
The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella , sent a message of closeness and solidarity to Donald Trump , who is following the rescue operations in these hours following the flood that hit Texas . The Guadalupe River flooded close to an area where several summer camps for children and teenagers were held, the missing are at least 23.
In the short text, Mattarella expresses to the US president "on behalf of the Italian people and on my own behalf, deep closeness to your country for the victims and missing persons caused by the floods that hit Texas".
"Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims and to all those waiting to learn the fate of their missing loved ones. In this moment of such grave mourning for the friendly American people, I wish to convey to you the sentiments of my most sincere condolences and those of the Italian Republic."
Mattarella recalls “the floods that hit Texas and in particular Kerr County, among which many children are included” and wishes “maximum success to the teams involved in the complex rescue operations”.
